Most of the trainees topped off their training and boosted their chances on the jobmarket with
a2(3)-month internship inabiotechcompany. According to thefinalmeasurement for 2012, the
percentageof job insertionwas78%.
We alsopursuedour partnershipwithCulture
in vivo
ASBL, whichorganizes two-monthbiotech
trainingsessions inNivelles.Weset up four 5-daymodules focusingon:

Westernblotting
•
Animal cell culture
•
Real-TimeQ-PCR techniques
Thesemoduleswere designed to strengthen the specific technical skills of 32 job-seekers and
shouldstimulate their professional insertion.
Wewerealso involved in the ‘BioCell R&DTrainingProgramme’ developed throughBiowinby the
Cefochim skills centre and ULB-Biopark Formation. We organized amodule focused onmicro-
biology/bacteriology for 12 trainees.In November and December, furthermore, we organized a
new sessionof theCapBio1 session inLiège.This new2-day training session aims tohelp job-
seekers and students discover the biotech field andbetter understand the required skills. It was
organized incollaborationwithBiowinandall the trainingcentresoperating inWallonia.Thisevent
wasattendedbya total of 68 job-seekers.

3.Higher education - technical collegestudents
Seven short-termmodules specifically designed for 115 students and their teacherswere orga-
nized in 2013. The aimwas to complement their academic courses and give them access to
state-of-the art technology that is unaffordable for technical colleges, promoting interactions
with researchersandexperts in thefield.
Themodules focusedonbiosafety,molecular biologyandPCR, PCRadvanced , PCRand immu-
nology, Practical introduction toHPLC, Introduction toprojectmanagement.
