platforms 93 business 92 BUSINESS GIGA The year 2023 confirmed the growing attractiveness of Liège’s life sciences ecosystem for companies in the sector. One of the reasons why companies choose to set up in Liège is the presence of technology platforms within the GIGA. These infrastructures are major pillars of our ecosystem, offering companies privileged access to cutting-edge equipment and expertise, thus fostering innovation and collaboration. The management of the space offered to companies is handled by Bridge 2 Health (B2H). The mission of B2H is to facilitate coordination between various stakeholders, providing companies with tailored services that meet their specific needs at every stage of their development. Over the past year, B2H has organized six platform visits. One company has established itself at GIGA+3, and four others are in the process of negotiation. These visits highlighted the unique opportunities offered by GIGA facilities, reinforcing Liège’s attractiveness on both the national and international scenes. New company Hillgene Biopharma Hillgene is a leading global CDMO that offers comprehensive services to the Cell Therapy sector. Headquartered in Suzhou, China, they have successfully completed 30+ Cell Therapy projects, and supported 8 IND (Investigational New Drug) applications in China. Pioneering an expedited CDMO/clinical development service, Hillgene collaborates with global CROs to accelerate product development, addressing medical needs and benefiting the global patient community.
