Davide will present a talk titled “The interplay between spontaneous neural activity and modular organization in developing cortical networks.”
The presentation will explore how spontaneous activity shapes the emergence of modular cortical architecture during development. The presentation will be partly based on an article that Davide recently published.

A brief bio: Davide studied medical biotechnology at the University of Milan and entered the field of neuroscience during his Master’s training in the neuropharmacology lab of Prof. Novelli in Oviedo, where he examined oxytocin’s electrophysiological effects on cortical networks. In 2017, he joined Prof. Luhmann’s lab at the University Medical Center Mainz for a PhD in Translational Biomedicine. His doctoral work focused on spontaneous neuronal activity in developing cortical circuits at both system and cellular levels, ranging from the mechanisms of neonatal programmed cell death to large-scale network dynamics.
