Cécile Oury is the new president of the Belgian Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (BSTH)

Cécile Oury, research director F.R.S.-FNRS, head of the laboratory of Cardiology, GIGA-Cardiovascular unit, is the new president of the Belgian Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (BSTH).

he main objective of the BSTH is to bring together the belgian thrombosis and hemostasis community in order to promote clinical care, education and scientific research in this field. «Our mission is to be actors of advancing health care in thrombosis and hemostasis. Thanks to the new team, the BSTH vision may become more strategic, innovative and diverse in phase with an evolving health care environment» comments Cécile.

Acting as an interactive platform, the BSTH aims at bringing expertise in thrombosis and hemostasis to the medical community, hospitals and other medical societies.

The BSTH is an important interlocutor between the belgian thrombosis and hemostasis community and the belgian federal and regional authorities, the international scene and a major partner of the pharmaceutical industry.

The BSTH promotes research in thrombosis and hemostasis by offering awards, travel and research grants to young scientists. Annual meeting and educational activities ensure continuous updates on thrombosis and hemostasis treatment, training and research.

The BSTH provides the means for interactive education and collaborative research and advocacy for patient’s benefit.
